Below is a link to the form for the Big Garden Birdwatch which takes place next weekend.  Your homework next weekend (28th – 30th January) will be to take part in the Birdwatch. This weekend, start to familiarise yourself with the different species of birds. Choose one species that interests you and produce a piece of independent research about it. Explore the RSPB website to find all the information you will need.

Ancient Egyptian Workshop

Yesterday we had another visit from Catherine Hammond from Epping Forest District Museum. This time we learned about what artifacts from a tomb can tell us about the Ancient Egyptians. We had to be detectives and use our research to deduce who was buried in this particular tomb!

Write about the workshop and add to the Blog as a comment. What did you do? What did you learn? What did you enjoy?

…we were finding out about the painstaking work of archaeologists by ‘excavating’ the chocolate chips from cookies, using cocktail sticks. Our challenge was to do so without breaking either the chocolate chips (representing the artifacts) or the cookie (representing the surrounding dig area)!
