Poetry Workshop
Today we had a visit from an inspirational poet called James Carter. He got us sharing ideas and writing our own poems. The resulting poems were beautiful and heartfelt. Here they are – and make sure you’ve got a box of tissues to hand!

Choose your favourite one and analyse it to work out what qualities it has to be a winning story. Think about:
- plot
- characterisation
- setting
- descriptive techniques
- language
- originality
Write your analysis of the story, together with your ideas on how it might help you with your own story writing, in your Homework Books (NOT on the Blog) and hand in on Monday.
