If I wrote a piece of music down but never played it, is it music?

    Yes it is music because you can still read the music in your head or out loud for example ( ABD ) .

    Yes because you composed it in your head so you should know what it sounds like. And other people may play your music in future.

    Yes, it is still a piece of Music, even though it hasn’t been performed or listened to by an audience. Many writers play the music whilst it is being written, but it is never produced. It is quite common for old pieces of music to be discovered, then conducted and listened to after the writer has died.

    It is still music but it is just pointless composing it

    Yes, music doesn’t have to be played to be music.
